Part 1, Folios 86-87. Letter dated at London from the Duke of York to the Prince of Orange. Lord Ossory, by whom this letter is being taken, has hurried over to Holland not knowing how soon the Prince may be in action again as the Duke expects given the French king's character. The Duke looks on the war as certain because if the Prince does his part, the King will stick firm to him for the restoration of the towns to the Spanish as the Prince will learn from Sir William Temple to whom the King is sending full instructions 'upon all that great affair'. The Duke advises the Prince to have a care of Dendermonde and Antwerp.
