Captured ship: Crown Mary otherwise Gekroonde Marie of Flushing (commander George Adrianson)
History: a Dutch privateer (60-83 tons, 11 guns, 62-90 men), bound from Flushing on a cruise; run ashore by the crew (rather than be taken prisoner by the French) on 16/26 November 1673 about a league or three miles from Camber, Sussex, whilst being chased by an unnamed 50-gun French naval warship (thought to have been in the French squadron of the Allied fleet), sold at Rye and renamed Golden Hand or Golden Hind.
