Description

Captured ship: Santa Maria of Dunkirk (master Derick Gryspert).

History: a French merchant ship (60 tons) bound from Dunkirk to Nantes, in ballast; taken on 22 September / 1 October 1690 in the Seine Bay by the privateer Elizabeth and Catherine (William Young commanding), and brought into Dover.

  • [CP 1-CP 4]: interrogatories, two examinations, docket, commission;
  • [CP 5]: allegation;
  • [CP 6-CP 7]: inventory, commission of appraisement.

[Decision: ship condemned, 21 November 1690].
