Description

Captured ship: Justice of Konigsberg (master Niels Anderson) [first capture].

History: a Swedish merchant ship (140 tons) bound from Konigsberg to Lisbon, laden with deal boards; taken on 16/26 1691 June off the Goodwin Sands by the privateer Elizabeth and Catherine (William Young commanding), and brought into Rye.

Court Papers numbered CP 1-CP 4:

  • [CP 1-CP 3]: interrogatories, commission, one examination;
  • [CP 4]: claim to the ship and cargo on behalf of merchants in Konigsberg.

[Decision: ship and cargo restored, 5 May 1691].
