Captured ship: St Geneviève of Le Havre (master Guillaume Le Maistre).
History: a French fishing vessel (15 tons, 6 guns, 25 men), bound from Le Havre to La Rochelle, intending to take on salt to sail for the Banks of Newfoundland; taken on 22 April / 2 May 1696 off the Sept-Îles by the privateers Goodfellowship (Robert Slowley commanding), Swallow (John Tupper commanding), and Defiance (John Gruchy commanding) and brought into Guernsey.
