Captured ship: Francis of Hythe (master Thomas Chapman).
History: an English fishing vessel (3-4 tons) bound from Folkestone to Nieuwpoort, carrying a parcel of wool from an apparently unknown sender [smuggling]; taken on 13/23 October 1692 between Hythe and Shornecliffe by the privateer Seaventure (Edward Slater commanding) and brought into Dover, where the crew were committed to the town's gaol.
