Folios 110-112: Robert Barlow, HMS Phoebe, Plymouth Sound. Is sending copies of his letters to Admiral Kingsmill [Robert Kingsmill] concerning the capture of a French letter of marque from Senegal. In the latter he found three French frigates, La Concorde, La Franchise and La Meduse were running down the coast of Africa and have captured several British ships. They were at anchor off the River Gambia and were then due to proceed towards Brazil and Guadeloupe.
Folio 111: enclosure in folios 110-112. Letter dated 9 November, 1799 by Captain Robert Barlow, HMS Phoebe, at sea, to Robert Kingsmill, Admiral of the Blue, Commander-in-Chief, Cork. Information regarding the capture of the French letter of marque Hazard of Bayonne, from Senegal bound for Bordeaux laden with gum and coffee.
