Captured ship: Anne of Kirkcaldy (master George Baruch or Beverage).
History: a Scottish ship (40 tons, Dutch-built dogger, at least 20 years old, formerly called William), bound from Bordeaux northabout to a port in the Firth [of Forth?], laden with wine; taken on 24 May / 3 June 1696, between Orkney and the Scottish mainland by the barge of HMS Lichfield (Lord Archibald Hamilton commanding), and brought into Great Yarmouth.
