Description

Captured ship: St Anthony of Lubeck (master Peter Knack).

History: [a Lubeck ship, bound from Malaga and Lisbon to Hamburg; taken on 20 April 1673 by HMS Portsmouth (James Paget commanding), and brought into Plymouth].

Documents: Court papers, a contested cause:-

  • 3 claims and certificates from Lubeck referring just to this ship;
  • 2 claims and certificates from Lubeck referring to both the St Anthony and to a further prize, the Salvador of Lubeck (master Hendrick Bencke).
