Part 1, Folio 85. From S P [Stephen Poyntz].
A letter advising that: an extract of a letter from Mr Stanhope will be sufficient and that, to protect intelligence sources, the original should not be put among the papers [?presented to the parliamentary committee concerning the Jacobite Atterbury Plot]; and that this, together with the letters to and from Grimaldo should be sufficent. The letter also mentions John Malone attesting to the 'directions found in K's pocket', when he attests to the cypher; and Mrs Spelman's letters mentioning 'Snug', 'Weak', and 'Brisk'.
