Folios 86-87. Letter written from Canterbury to Edm [Edmund] Barham at Dover. 'Sir, The bearer Henry Russell, who brought me the favour of yours, went with me to see Jno [John] Lane committed to this jail on suspicion of enlisting men into the French service. Henry Russell declares he never saw the prisoner till today and the prisoner denies he ever spoke of Henry Russell and says he knows nothing of him'. [Signature illegible].
