Description

Envelope, typed 'IV, [Nos] 136 to 138, 140 to 150, 923 to 927, IV-[superheated] [Nos] 39 to 48, 117 to 123, 132 to 135, 139', containing five cuttings and four postcards, [images of Caledonian Railway 'Dunalastair IV' [four] class 4-4-0 locomotives]:

Cuttings, monochrome photographic illustrations:

1) [probably 'The Locomotive', 15 August 1910, page 159], side view, 'New Superheated 4-4-0 express engine No 139, built at St Rollox and running between Perth and Aberdeen', [with principal dimensions], [c 1910].

2) ['The Railway Magazine', May 1931, page 381], front three-quarter view, 'Pullman Restaurant Car on Caledonian Section, LMSR [London Midland and Scottish Railway], photographs by H Gordon Tidey', [locomotive No 14450] [c 1933].
