7898. Thomas Alkins, Adjutant Guards, New York to Major McKenzie [sic]. Asks that he inform the Commander-in-Chief that £277 Sterling is wanted to supply the non-commissioned officers, drummers and privates of the Brigade of Guards with neccessaries and give each man a trifle of money. If His Excellency will agree to this he will account for it to the different regiments on arrival in London.
