To: The President of the General Board of Health.
From: Charles E Deacon, Town Clerk and Clerk to the Local Board of Health, Southampton [Hampshire].
Subject Matter: Letter advising that the Committee appointed by the Local Board of Health to carry out the sewerage works of Southampton find great difficulty in settling upon a site for the permanent outlet for the sewerage of the town, and that they are most anxious to obtain the advice of Mr Austin upon this very important matter. Deacon requests that Austin be authorised to visit Southampton, and to confer with the Committee personally upon the various matters which they wish to bring under his consideration.
