Folio 277: Commissioner Sir Richard Beach, Portsmouth. Is sending an account of the damage done to ships due to bad weather, the Northumberland and Crown particularly. The Jersey came into Spithead having lost her main mast, which they are replacing. The Cadiz merchant and Exeter will be launched and the Advice and Plymouth docked. Richard Shales, Clerk of the Cheque has sent up his books and they are in need of more money. He will follow the Board's instructions regarding the protections for Mr. Grant's men. Mrs. Steventon, widow of the Purser of the York, will not deliver the tickets until she has spoken with Sir Ralph Delavell. Asks for orders for the docking of the Northumberland. The Sally Rose and the Centurion's men, who were turned over to the Foresight, were paid yesterday, and the Hope and Defiance tomorrow.
