Folio 163: Commissioner Sir Richard Beach, Portsmouth. Due to bad weather there has been no progress on the St. David, or opportunity to talk to the Dutch Captain. He will give orders for the Victualling of the St. David's men on board the Royal Charles. Asks what allowance they can pay to the men of the Men-of War, whom they continue to use. Mr. Stanniford's son has arrived. The Storekeeper is drawing up a list of the stores and provisions delivered to the States ships. They will dock the Edgar when the Cambridge is launched, unless the Yorke comes in. If they cannot weigh the St. David at the next attempt, he thinks they should discharge the vessels hired to help, as they are too small.
