Folio 205: George Larkin. Deputy Judge Advocate at a court martial held on board the Queen at Spithead. The dispute between Captain Welbey of the Lizard and his Lieutenant, during the taking of a French shallop, which went over the Bar of Bierrey resulted in Captain Welbey striking the Lieutenant. The court found Captain Welbey not guilty of striking the Lieutenant but had lifted his cane as if intending to strike him. They found Lieutenant Hill to be very negligent in his duty and had disobeyed the Captain. Under the 11th and 27th Articles, Lieutenant Hill was dismissed of that employment and was considered incapable of bearing command as a Commodore or Warrant Officer in HM's Navy. The court ordered Captain Welbey to receive a severe reprimand Enclosed in f204.
