Description

Folios 102-103. Judges of the Special Commission in Carlisle, Lord Chief Baron Parker, Cha [Charles] Clarke, T Burnett, and J Denison, to the Duke of Newcastle, summarising results of cases heard so far. They praise the conduct of the High Sheriff [Charles] Pattinson, as well as the Grand and Petite juries. Two cases are highlighted: Charles Douglas, alias Lord Mordington; and Robert Taylor [late shoemaker of Edinburgh]. Dated at Carlisle [Cumberland]. Enclosing:

Folios 104-105. Lists of convicted prisoners convicted at trial, grouped under those 'most guilty', others 'seen in arms', and those for whom mercy is recommended.
