Folio 6. Affidavit in the case of Robert Forbes, prisoner in Carlisle [Cumberland] convicted of High Treason, sworn by Alexander Malcolm of Strathdon, Aberdeenshire, verifying Forbes's baptismal record. Dated at Carlisle. Filed with:
Folio 7. Affidavit sworn by John M'culrath [signs McCurath?], a soldier in Colonel Lascel's [Lascelle's] regiment wounded at the Battle of Preston [Prestonpans], describing how James Forbes's [sic] wife helped him escape. Dated at Carlisle.
Folio 8-9. Affidavit sworn by Grace Blaclock [signs Blacklock] of Carlisle, that she knew Forbes while they both lived in John Robertson's house, that he expressed no support for the [Jacobite] cause, and that he escaped the rebels after [the Battle of] Falkirk, but before Culloden. Reports him saying he had brothers who were officers in army of King [George]. Dated at Carlisle court.
Folio 10. Copy extract of Forbes's baptismal record dated 3 November 1727, signed by John Lumsden Minr [Minister] of Strathdon, as refered to in folio 6.
