This small bundle of twelve sheets contains papers from two separate cases, bound together in the late 1950s, probably on the basis of the dates on the documents. The first section contains a deposition of James Metcalfe of Nappa in Wensleydale in the North Riding, dated 20 February 1544. The interrogatories to be put on behalf of the plaintiff John, Lord Scrope, to Christopher Metcalfe then follow and indicate that this was a case of alleged embracery and jury suborning at York assizes in 35 Henry VIII (1543-44) in a case over title to the manor of Nappa. Other related papers are STAC 2/18/334; STAC 2/24/13; STAC 2/26/42; STAC 2/26/191; STAC 2/27/106. Further interrogatories are STAC 10/4/59.

Also attached is another bundle containing depositions of Richard Amore, William Palmer, Howell ap Lewis, servant of Thomas Blount, esquire, and Roger Purselowe, clerk, dated 15 February 35 Henry VIII (1544). Interrogatories on the part of Thomas Meysy against William Palmer, Howell ap Lewis, and Richard More indicate that this is part of the case Meysy (Mesey) v Blount, Purslowe, Palmer, Lewis and More in STAC 2/20/370, concerning common land in Shakenhurst, Worcestershire.
