Description

Folio 23-24. Report of Jno [John] Sharpe to [Thomas] Ramsden. The rebel prisoners [Jacobites] claim the Turnkeys in New Gaol Southwark [Surrey, London] are demanding money for basic rights. Articles of complaint regarding demands for payment: Access of visitors, nurses or apothecary's; High cost of having to buy beer and other provisions; Denial of access to fresh air. Report contains incidents involving: Walter Mitchele; William Lukin and John Inwood.
