This series contains annual reports of the Council for the Central Laboratory of the Research Councils (CCLRC), laid before Parliament pursuant to the Science and Technology Act 1965.
In its Corporate Plan 1996, the Council identified its ten strategic aims for the coming decade.
The Council's principal objective in formulating its Business Plan was to satisfy in the most cost effective the requirements of its customers - the other Research Councils, international partners, UK public sector bodies and industry.
It inherited programmes formerly the responsibility of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
