Prisoner age: 20 years.
Court and date of trial: Salisbury City Sessions, Wiltshire, January 1837.
Crime: Stealing apparel.
Initial sentence: Seven years transportation.
Gaoler's report: 'Character not known'.
Annotated (Outcome): 'Nil'.
Petitioner(s): Three petitions from the prisoner's widowed mother Elizabeth Williams of 44 Oxford Street, Landport near Portsmouth, Hampshire, and of Chandos Street, Landport, including one petition undersigned by 15 local inhabitants attesting to the good character of the family.
Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): The prisoner was unemployed, in distress and away from his family; the prisoner is from a respectable family, this is his first offence and he is penitent.
Additional Information: Prisoner on board the York convict hulk. The prisoner is one of nine siblings.
