Crime: Riot and assault at Spittal, Tweedmouth, County of Durham [Northumberland].
Initial sentence: Eight months imprisonment.

Petitioner(s): [The prisoner] and 70 supporters.
Grounds for clemency: Good character; was unaware he acted illegally; has served half his sentence; he did not behave violently; should he remain in prison during the coming season he will lose his occupation as a salmon fisher.
