Description

Folios 161-163. Letter from William E Goodacre, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mansfield Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, enclosing a statement of able bodied men, to whom the board has ordered relief, in addition to wages they receive from the Duke of Portland, on the grounds stated in a previous letter, dated 5 June 1847. He requests the Commission's ratification of the relief.

Also enclosed is a list of names of men, stating whether with wife, age and the number of children under the age of 16, all from the parish of Sutton-in-Ashfield:
