Hovhannes Francis APRAHAMIAN, alias APRAHANIAM: British. A Communist Party member from the late 1930s, Francis APRAHAMIAN acted in 1945 as election agent for the Party candidate in Hornsey and in the 1950s was involved in communist-influenced scientific organisations such as the Association of Scientific Workers and for a short time worked as an assistant to Professor J D Bernal. He was later employed at Birkbeck College as a laboratory technician and was a member of the Party's Science Group and of Science for Peace
