Captured ship: Le Royal Philippe of Bordeaux (master François Foucaud otherwise Fouceaud or Fourand).
History: a French ship (260 tons, 14 guns, 48 men), bound from Bordeaux to Saint Domingue, laden with flour, wine, linen, salt, oil; taken on 8/19 October 1747 in latitude 40°N by HMS Centurion (Peter Dennis commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.
