Captured ship: Providence of Sunderland (master Michael Chester).
History: an English ship (120 tons), bound to Amsterdam, laden with coals; taken on 10/21 June 1744 25 leagues off the Texel by the privateer Le Soleil of Dunkirk (Jaques Burgot commanding), retaken on 13/24 June 1744 by HMS Sheerness (George Bridges Rodney commanding), and brought into the River Thames.
