Description

Captured ship: De Printz Frederick of Hamburg (master Jochim Hartmann).

History: a Hamburg ship (70 tons, 5 men and 2 boys), bound from Hamburg to Bilbao, laden with scythes, sack cloth, linen, wax, starch, glasses, pepper and sangalettas; taken on 12/23 May 1748 off Beachy Head by the privateer Warren (Thomas Hancock commanding), and brought into Dover.

  • [CP 6]: attestation and claim;
  • [CP 7-CP 8]: two attestations issued on behalf of the ruling authorities of Hamburg, with translations;
  • [CP 9-CP 10]: attestation as to papers, and abstracts and translations of the 64 ship's papers (restored).
