Captured ship: Notre Dame des Anges of Nantes (master Pierre Duporteau).
History: a French merchant ship with a letter of marque (350 tons, 8 guns, 27 men, 1 prisoner), bound from Port au Prince, Saint Domingue, to Nantes, laden with sugar; taken on 18/29 April 1748 at latitude 46° by the privateer Grand Alexander (Matthew Combe commanding), and brought into Bristol.
