Captured ship: L'Expedition of Bordeaux, formerly Le St Pierre (master was Robert Laville from Bordeaux via Guinea to Martinique, then Arnaud Petit from Martinique).
History: a French merchant ship with a letter of marque (160 tons, 10 guns, 36 men) bound from Martinique to Bordeaux, laden with sugar, coffee, logwood and 11 elephant's teeth from Guinea [ans so a slave trader]; taken in fight on 18 February/1 March 1745 in latitude 47ºN by the privateer Prince Charles (Charles Gwynne commanding), and brought into Bristol.
