Prisoner name(s): William Scott.

Court and date of trial: Sussex Winter Assizes 1826.

Crime: Burglary and sacrilege - Harry Charman, prosecutor.

Initial sentence: Death commuted to transportation for life.

Annotated (Outcome): Refused.

Petitioner(s): The convict 13 people (previous employers).

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Only offence ever committed; he was led astray by an accomplice; aged parents; has an excellent character for honesty and industry.
