History: an American privateer (schooner, 80 tons, 10 guns, 8 swivels, 60 men), bound from Cape Ann, Massachusetts on a cruise; taken on 9 September 1777 off Martha's Vineyard in latitude 39°30'N, longitude 3°30'E of Block Island otherwise 65°30'W by HMS Unicorn (John Ford commanding), and brought into New York.
