Captured ship: Le Salutaire formerly Le Marin (master Gerin).
History: a French merchant ship (polacre, 180 tons, 3 guns, 7 men), bound from Martinique to Marseilles, laden with sugar, coffee; taken on 4 July 1780 between 45°N and 47°W by HMS Alfred (William Beran [Bayne] commanding) in sight of the fleet under Captain Geary, and brought into Plymouth.
Court papers: 1-15.
