Captured ship: Saint Sebastien (master Martin de Martinarena, prize master Jean Francois Giraud).
History: a French merchant ship (galliot, 80 tons, 2 swivel guns, abandoned by her crew), laden with anchors, grinding stones, flints, mats, iron; taken on 27 July 1781 in latitude 45°20'N longitude 55°W [St Pierre et Miquelon] by the Guernsey privateer True Briton (Philip Durrell commanding), retaken on 11 August 1781 in latitude 49°14'N, by the French privateer Bazille (M Deville Bucaud commanding), retaken on 12 August 1781 by HMS Daphne (William Carlyon commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.
