High Court of Admiralty.
Captured ship: Rionnois of Martinique (master Gratian Darretche).
History: a French merchant ship (brigantine, 150 tons, 10 men), bound from Bordeaux to St Pierre, Martinique, laden with wine, flour, iron, linen, cheese, brandy; taken on 18 February 1780 about thirty leagues from coast of Portugal at Cape St Mary [Santa Maria] in the Azores in latitude 36°N, longitude 24°W by the privateer Stagg (Thomas Wilson commanding), and brought into Liverpool.
Court papers: 1-26; Ship's papers: 27-51. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
