High Court of Admiralty.
Captured ship: Martha of Inverkeith (Alexander Thompson).
History: a Scottish merchant ship (80 tons); taken on 16 September 1779 at anchor off Lough Eriboll, Sutherland by the American privateer Black Prince (Patrick Dowling commanding); released at Lough Eriboll and came into Whitehaven.
Court papers: 1-6; Ship's papers: 7-7. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
