Captured ship: Martha (master Solomon Vesey).
History: an English [Bermudian] merchant ship (brigantine, 40 tons, 8 men), bound from Turks Island to British New York, laden with salt; taken on 1 April 1779 forty miles north of Cape Charles in latitude 37°50'N, longitude 74°30'W by the privateer St George (James Carew commanding), and brought into New York.
Court papers: 1-56; Ship's papers: 6-11. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
