Capture history: an American merchant ship (brigantine, 100 tons, 9 men) bound from Portsmouth, New Hampshire to Grenada, laden with lumber, fish; taken on 6 July 1781 off Point Montauk, New York by HMS Adamant (Gideon Johnstone commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: from the United States to the Caribbean Islands.
