Captured ship: Le Saint Esprit of Paimpol (master Toussaint le Coniat).
History: a French merchant ship (20 tons, 3 men), bound from Oléron to Paimpol, laden with wine and brandy; taken on 10 November 1779 about 5 leagues south of Belle Isle by the privateer Pitt (Laurens Ahier commanding), and brought into Jersey.
Court papers: 1-4; Ship's papers: 5-7. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
