Captured ship: Blue Bird or Blew Bird (master Edmond Case).
Capture history: an American merchant ship (sloop, 14 tons, 1 swivel gun, 4 men), bound from Accomack, Virginia to Surinam, laden with tobacco, flour, beef, pork, bread; taken on 18 January 1779 in latitude 37°20'N, longitude 72°W of London by the loyalist privateer Gold Pippin (Philip Ford commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: from the United States to the Caribbean mainland.
