Captured ship: L'Angelique (master Louis Auguste Fronst).
History: a French merchant ship with letter of marque (brigantine, 120 tons, 4 guns, 22 men), bound from Nantes to Martinique, laden with wine, flour, lemons, butter, cordage, salt beef and nails; taken on 6 October 1778 in latitude 44°N, longitude 8°W, thirty leagues north west of Cape Finisterre by the privateers Favourite (Robert Jope commanding) and Lord Cardiff (Abraham Watson commanding), and brought into Exeter.
Court papers: 1-20; Ship's papers: 21-25. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
