Commissioner Richard Hughes, Portsmouth. Receipt of letters and warrants to expect cables and varnish of Pine from Plymouth by the Heyling hoy, John Lawford, Master, which has arrived, to expect money for carrying on the recalls in Lord Howe's Treasurership and for the Cruizer sloop to receive and carry the money for Plymouth, to make out a bill to Messrs. Templer and Parlby, for freeing the new dock in the bason and reservoir of water, to speed the expense on the heads of Extra and Wear and Tear and to send an account of Messrs. Richter and Company's plank and thickstuff. Will deliver the warrant appointing Isaac Moodey, Cook of the Courageux. Has sent by Messrs. Clark's machine today, 2 registers of the Artificers of the Yard and the St. John schooner's monthly books with the Worcester's pay books. Asks for Mr. Mount to send a book of 5 quires, each page ruled with 20 black lines and bound in vellum for registering the Artificers borne here. Is sending the daily progress with 3 unserviceable certificates for James Rooney of the Avia, John Montague of the Prudent and William Perry of the Centaur for payment. Yesterday, the Aeolus arrived at Spithead.
