Phineas Bowles, Storekeeper, Tangiers. He has not written frequently as he believes that Commander Sheere is keeping the Board informed. He has 170 warrants for stores delivered since October 1677 which he has not had time to send home. He thought to deliver them to Captain Peter Belvin, Commander of a merchant ship at Cadiz, but Mr Sheere advises him against. He has been very busy over the last year and hopes this will be reflected in his salary. He has passed a bill for £240 payable to the order of Benjamin Price of Cadiz. Explains why cables were left in the hold of a flyboat. Captain Beverly refused permission to cut up damaged sails for tarpaulins. He is sending accounts of stores and a receipt for stores given to Captain Obediah Sporne of the Constant Friendship who delivered the shortfall of stores sent by Thomas Turner, Storekeeper of Deptford. He understands that he will be requested to give a report of all stores received and issued since his time there, which he is ready to do.
