Italian Embassy in the UK: special material. The file consists of intercept material. Individual pre-war items show that the Italian service attaches were seeking to acquire British military and naval technical information and on several occasions this was done in conjunction with German intelligence officers operating in UK. Information of this sort was sent from the Embassy to a secret office in Rome named Ufficio Informazione, which was a part of the Italian War Office but separate from it
