Folios 364-365: James Pringle, HMS Sparrowhawk, Downs. Acknowledge receipt of yours dated 1 August 1808 inclosing that of W Cox and have to acquaint that he has since under his Command behaved in a very fair manner, but in his opinion not adapted to fill the situation of any Warrant Officer.
Folios 366-367: enclosure with folios 364-365. Letter dated 26 July 1808 by W Cox, HMS Sparrowhawk, Seaford Roads, to the Admiralty. He understands that you have noticed several of the Ships Company belonging to HMS Kent when under your Command. He requests (as he has been fourteen years in the Service) that when an opportunity offers he would be considered.
