Description

Folios 163-164: Encloses a letter from Lieutenant William Roberts on his ship asking to put ashore for the benefit of his health. Also asks that Lieutenant George Hoad from the Half Pay List may be appointed to HMS Naiad.

Folios 165-166: enclosure with folios 163-164. Letter dated 28 September 1797, Lieutenant William Roberts, HMS Naiad, Sheerness to Captain William Pierrepont, [Morris?] Hotel, [Bleak?] Street, London. Request to be superceeded as he has rheumatism in his head and is unable to perform his duties.
