Folios 120-121: James Halford, London. Encloses a commission [folios 122-123] from Admiral Sir John Jervis dated 18 June 1797 to appoint Lieutenant Charles Herbert Pierrepont Commander of HMS Kingfisher and asks the Admiralty to confirm.
Folios 122-123: enclosure with folios 120-121. Warrant dated 18 June 1797 from Sir John Jervis, HMS Ville de Paris to Lieutenant Charles Herbert Pierrepont. Orders appointing him Acting Commander on HMS Kingfisher in the place of Captain John Maitland, who has been appointed Captain of HMS San Nicolas, by command of Admiral George Purvis.
