Folios 283-284: Robert O'Brien, Galway. Confirms that on receipt of Admiralty Order of 24 August immediately came to Galway. Reports on the situation has found with regard to impressing men and boys for the service and his communications with the Mayor, Magistrates and Captain French, Collector of Customs. States that the women are as strong as the men, of the wildest and most savage, regardless of danger, in defence of the men. If it is decided to set up a Rendezvous suggests Lieutenant Philip Percy, who served on the Leyden as a particularly suitable person and sets out reasons why.
