Folios 461-462: Henry Edward Napier, HMS Rifleman, Portsmouth Harbour. States the Surgeon of HMS Rifleman having reported to him that Lieutenant John Broderick of HMS Rifleman has for some time past been in a bad state of health form a Chronic affliction of the Liver and requested him to apply for a Survey that he may have an opportunity of using the Mineral Waters for his recovery. He requests a survey be granted.
